The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pressed up the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to oil into biodiesel. It's showing successful too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
